This is an old Yemeni anklet. A similar anklet is shown in Marjorie Ransom's book on Yemeni jewelry. She credits the origin of this anklet to Wadi Da'wan, Yemen. There is extensive stamping work all over the anklet and there is a trapped pebble that makes it rattle slightly.

This anklet has a screw-type closure and is in very good vintage condition. There is just a small indentation, hardly noticeable. A rare find indeed.

Inner circumference is 20.5 cm (8 1/8") and inner diameter is 7.5 cm (2 3/4"). The width is 2 cm (3/4") at the widest and the weight is 87 grams.
